Requirements:
ASM Press seeks an editor with a minimum of 5 years of experience in STM publishing with demonstrated skills in working effectively with authors/editors to conceptualize an online reference product from existing book content. Preference for clinical or medical background and experience in managing editorial workflows. Strong time and project management and organizational skills, diplomatic problem solving, and evidence of sound judgment. Able to work independently, prioritize multiple deadline-sensitive projects, adapt to changes in work environment, and solve problems proactively. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with commitment to interacting effectively and diplomatically with colleagues and volunteer editors and authors in a society environment. Working knowledge of applications and technologies, including online content submissions and review systems and MS Office, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with publishing tools and technologies, e.g., XML, semantic tagging, a plus. Bachelor’s degree required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 5 years of editorial experience in peer-reviewed STM publishing
• Demonstrated skills in effective and diplomatic author/editor management
• Strong time and project management and organizational skills, including prioritizing deadline-sensitive projects.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat
• Preference for editorial background in clinical or medical content
• Preference for experience in backend publishing tools and technologies, e.g., XML, semantic tagging
