Glitterati is seeking an experienced Managing Editor to work with the Publisher, Authors, Freelancers and Vendors to complete, approximately 15 heavily illustrated titles annually, with backlist bestsellers, from manuscript through bound book for a high production value titles. The emphasis of this position will be the day to day production and editorial work, only assigning tasks which are not the Managing Editor's expertise. Please note that this position is "Hands On" with the day to day production and editorial and not a "management" only position.

- Meets weekly with Publisher, publicity and finance to review status on all elements of each project from acquisition through publication, including list scheduling and resolution of production issues. Follow up to resolve problems and conflicts.
- Acts as the main liaison between Editorial, Design, Production Art, Manufacturing, and Editorial Services in coordinating book schedules, following up on late and missing materials, and resolving production and manufacturing problems and issues.
- Attends all general seasonal publishing meetings: launch and planning.
- Coordinates and tracks the elements of design and production and manufacturing, for marketing, cover and interior files.
- Holds weekly meetings plan transmittals.
- Maintains up-to-date database information.
- Reviews all editorial transmittals to production.
- Reviews and routes contract requests.
-Traffics and manages the manufacturing of approximately 15 heavily illustrated books annually and coordinates with other departments.

- 5+ years’ illustrated trade book experience in Managing Editorial/Production/Manufacturing
- Great patience and a calm, results-oriented approach under stressful circumstances
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and authors
- Strong leadership skills; ability to manage and motivate a team under tight deadlines
- Strong computer/MS Word and Excel/Acrobat/InDesign skills and knowledge of electronic copyediting and coding
- Solid copyediting and proofreading skills
- Knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style (16th and 17th eds.)
