Requirements:
We are currently seeking a Publicist to lead publicity efforts for some Harlequin hardcover, trade, and mass market Romance titles within the HQN and MIRA imprints.

Responsibilities:
- Supports and works independently on a wide array of romance titles by high-profile franchise and debut authors within Harlequin’s HQN and MIRA imprints to secure media coverage.
- Coordinates and executes media campaigns, implements review copy mailings, influencer tours (blog/Instagram), and manages media lists.
- Researches, organizes and executes author events.
- Creates innovative press materials including press releases, pitch letters, Q&A’s and bios.
- Pitches seasonal titles (i.e. Christmas, Valentine’s etc.).
- Manages partnerships with key romance media influencers (i.e. Frolic, FIRST for Women, Harlequin Junkie, Fresh Fiction, etc.) to ensure monthly consistent coverage.
- Develops and maintains relationships with broadcast, print and online media to secure reviews and features to grow national mainstream coverage.
- Cultivates, develops, and maintains key romance-specific media and other relationships within publishing.
- Cultivates, maintains and manages author relationships as part of title-specific publicity efforts.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders – leadership team, editorial, marketing, sales, etc. to maximize publicity support.
- Spearheads and grows digital influencer opportunities and relationships.
- Coordinates and executes 3-5 influencer events each year (separate events or part of conference).
- Performs general administrative duties including NetGalley, budget management.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of prior work experience in publicity with a focus on and interest in romance
- Strong and working knowledge of romance media landscape and digital sphere
- Media consumer who will focus on byline and trend research for the imprints and genre.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings regardless of audience
- Results-driven, motivated team player
- Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work product and demonstrate solid follow through
- Drives change and innovation by improving work product or process, and challenges established norms where appropriate
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a love of books are a must
- Competent with social media networks
- Strong prioritization skills and the ability to remain calm and use sound judgement under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; Knowledge of Cision Media database, NetGalley a plus
- Proven ability to build supportive and constructive relationships within and outside of the organization; takes the lead in inspiring others to work together for mutual benefit
