We are currently seeking a National Account Rep to sell Children’s books for our educational channel. This unique role combines direct selling responsibility for a key national account as well as helping to strategize the overall sales efforts into the educational channel. The ideal candidate will have a passion for children’s books and have in depth knowledge of the education market. The position reports to the VP, Sales Director and is based in New York City. This role includes regular attendance at educational conferences and internal sales meetings throughout the year, as well as account meetings and presentations.

- National Account selling to key national educational wholesaler and major, growing book fair account, selling frontlist titles and positioning backlist titles and programs to maximize sales growth.
- Work closely with the School and Library Marketing team to strategize titles/programs with most opportunity in this channel.
- Determine titles/programs to advertise, including coordinating all advertising for school/library/educational wholesale accounts, including reviewing metadata, providing sales handles and determining titles to appropriately level.
- Creation of customized lists related to trends in the school curriculum.
- Liaise with internal sales reps to provide regular analysis on customer trends and opportunities.
- Share current and new trends in educational channel with editorial and marketing teams.

- 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of relevant work experience required – including experience selling Children’s books to educational wholesale accounts
- In depth knowledge of the education market, including current trends
- Strong sales analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and very strong attention to detail
- Ability to set priorities under pressure
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint and strong systems ability
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Travel required on an as needed basis
