We’re seeking a highly organized, personable individual with strong communication skills for an assistant position in the subrights department supporting the Executive Director of Global Licensing and Media Rights and the Director of UK Rights. Duties include:

Preparing submissions and submission lists
Tracking contracts and payments
Tracking submissions
Keeping detailed schedules
Tracking projects and information for UK publications and theater performances
Compiling publicity materials
Compiling twice yearly rights guides
Scheduling for book fairs
Tracking deals; responding to rights requests
Contact grid upkeep for theatre/film/UK publishers
Handle permissions and educational reprint licenses

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated multi-tasker with excellent organizational and communication skills who can be meticulously accurate as well as prompt with projects. We are looking for someone who is a team player, who is a creative problem solver and who is effective at time management. Tech savviness and prior publishing experience a plus but not a requirement.

This job is an excellent way to build experience in the book industry and learn about the overall business of publishing. This is not designed as an entry into editorial or agenting work; candidate must have interest in rights/ licensing, contract management, and assisting with global deal making.
