We are looking for a creative, smart, and knowledgeable consumer marketing director to join our team in crafting product strategies to generate increased sales in retail and online, using advertising, publicity, and social media.

Key Duties
• Develop and implement marketing strategies for 25 titles per year
• Communicate detailed campaign updates directly to editors, publicists, publishers, sales teams, agents, and authors. Present campaigns formally in key meetings.
• Manage marketing budget, schedule, and priorities.
• Create advertising strategies and execute the creation of ads in print and digital including Amazon advertising, managing the process from start to finish—planning, copywriting, and developing creative, as well as testing, monitoring, and optimizing to maximize ROI.
• Create and manage consumer-facing email marketing campaigns and content calendars, analyze results using stats, trends and competitor programs to optimize engagement.
• Utilize retail reporting tools and industry information to identify trends in sales and customer purchasing to inform our promotional strategy, identify new opportunities and guide editorial and cover direction.
• Work with designers in creating and managing product landing pages on company website.
• Create promotional materials, videos, and other assets to create product awareness to market titles to consumers and communicate updates to sales, editorial and trading partners in support of sales efforts in all channels.
• Oversee the management of author tours and events in coordination with the Sales Team.
• Develop product pitches of key titles to general media, forming relationships with publicity contacts and bloggers and arrange for author interviews, excerpts, book signings and develop initiatives to expand our online presence and increase author online engagement.
• Oversee freelance publicity team.
• Oversee awards submissions and maintain a database of contacts.
• Oversee the management of social media accounts, working with marketing assistant to curate content for posts and create a growth strategy for increasing social engagement.
• Develop the strategy for consumer conferences, i.e., BookCon, from pre-conference planning to on-site promotion to post-conference engagement.and oversee the management of the details of the conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree • 5+ years' experience planning and executing marketing strategy; preferably for a book publisher.
• Relationships and contacts with publicity outlets, book & mommy bloggers a plus • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with Publishing, Sales, and Authors. • Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Indesign a plus. Knowledge of video editing a bonus. • Proactive and accountable• Willingness to travel to trade shows multiple times per year.
