Responsibilities

Find target courses and contacts on university websites
Via telephone and email, you will proactively find key decision makers, establish responsibility and budget, identify customer needs and match products to those requirements, presenting ideas, solutions and closing sales
Reach or exceed sales targets and objectives as given each year
Deliver and measure your own results against priority campaigns
Seek out new business opportunities for our digital products
Confidently deliver presentations via telephone and webinar
Keep accurate and up to date sales records via SAP CRM system
Share customer, product and market insights with sales, marketing, and editorial colleagues

Our ideal candidate

Can boast excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Is fluent in written and spoken English
Has a proven track record of hitting sales targets
Is willing to travel domestically to visit key customers or attend academic conferences on occasion
Holds a passport and has the ability to travel internationally to attend a twice-yearly sales conference
Has earned a Bachelor's degree

You will also have:

A passion for education and a background in publishing or academia (desired)
High comfort-level with selling by phone, email, and delivering online presentations
Excellent sales and negotiation skills
Confidence in dealing with faculty and university staff
Self-motivated, results oriented and willing to learn new skills
Strong organizational skills and good time management

The Inside Sales Representative will be an essential part of the New York-based team of Macmillan International Higher Education, focused on winning new business by working to explore new contacts, build relationships, and close new course adoptions. The key to your success will be to manage your time effectively so you’re reaching large numbers of academics but also establishing longer term relationships to maximise customer satisfaction and sales. You will also work with the wider global marketing and editorial teams to share valuable customer feedback and to collaboratively win big business.

Your objective will be to hit annual targets across digital and print products with adoptions and direct sales at colleges and universitities. The role includes full ownership of select institutions in the specified territory. This carries with it a great opportunity to work as part of a growing regional team, but to also contribute to the growth of our global business with your creativity, motivation and enthusiasm to succeed.
