Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic full-time assistant to assist two successful agents at InkWell: Stephen Barbara and Charlie Olsen. Both Charlie and Stephen focus on young adult fiction and middle grade fiction. Additionally, Charlie focuses on graphic novels for all ages and Stephen represents adult genre fiction and select nonfiction. They also specialize in book-to-film and television rights deals with many projects currently in development or active production.

The assistant will liaise with clients and editors, organize and send submissions to publishers, draft personalized letters, edit client manuscripts, track payments and contracts, and review incoming queries and manuscripts. In addition, the assistant will write plot synopses, critical evaluations, and participate in editorial meetings with agents and authors. The assistant will also take part in our social media management. We are looking for someone to tackle all of these tasks, while also answering the phone, coordinating meetings and schedules, and invoicing payments.

We strive to give all of our employees opportunities for growth, and are known for our team-oriented, collaborative environment.
