The Quarto Group is currently seeking a Marketing Manager, Children's, who will work in partnerships with the publishers, editors and authors from the proposal stage of the book to provide market research feedback, build promotional partnerships and strategies as part of the publishing process, and maximize marketing opportunities as part of the publishing strategy of the book. This role will work with Director of Marketing and serve as a key member of the marketing team to develop shared best practice for Quarto Kids, setting up tools and resources for a range of marketing strategies to be used across the children's business with an eye for strategic growth. The key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

Create and execute marketing plans with specific goals for individual titles, designed to generate sales, build brand awareness, and maximize exposure to the target audience through online, print, broadcast, and other channels.
Successfully develop the pitch of key titles to the general media, forming relationships with key media contacts in the Mommy Blogger, Parenting, Educational and Children's Literature areas. Develop creative and strategic initiatives to expand the online presence of our products, authors, and brands in social media and other targeted communities, and maintain a thorough network of contacts within the relevant subject areas.
Spearhead award submissions for products in the toy market. Develop and execute marketing and publicity for toy products.
Produce press releases and media kits, write advertising copy, and help maintain social-media and related sites with book and author news and supplemental marketing content.
Arrange for author interviews, excerpts, and reviews in print, broadcast, and online media and coordinate author events and book signings.
Organize mailings of review copies and supporting material, arrange for production and mailing of bound galleys, and maintain a detailed and well-organized database of contacts and mailings.
Analyze and report on the results of marketing initiatives and their impact on sales on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, as appropriate.
In partnership with the Director of Marketing, evolve and lead social media strategy and tactics for title marketing.
Manage budgets, schedules, and priorities in support of these initiatives, taking into account the appropriate level of resources, target audience, type of media, materials, and associated events.
Communicate regularly to the company on marketing initiatives, developments, and accomplishments.
Work with National Account and Specialty Sales Reps to ensure customers are informed of publicity and marketing activity that might support sales efforts in the various channels, and partner with them to provide marketing materials that may aid their sales strategies.

Do you have the following skills and qualifications?

Bachelor's Degree
5+ years' experience planning and executing marketing and educational strategy; preferably for a children's book, toy or media company.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office systems and applications
Familiarity with book publicity and databases
Relationships and contacts with children's educational (library, school) influencers, trade book reviewers; book & mommy bloggers a plus
Thorough knowledge of media, public relations, and publicity organizations and/or book publishing.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Strong ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with Publishing, Sales, and Authors.

Willingness to travel to trade shows or conventions multiple times per year.
