Requirements:
Support an executive editor in the Adult editorial department in a wide range of administrative and editorial tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Communicate with other departments, authors, and agents.
• Write editorial materials, including but not limited to, tip sheets to share with marketing and sales, catalog copy, and jacket copy.
• Read submissions and provide feedback; draft rejection letters.
• Communicate with other departments, authors, and agents.
• Input data into our electronic databases, namely Biblio.
• Provide editorial notes on manuscripts.
• Mail out various forms of correspondence, including book mailings.
• Create Travel and Expense reports for supervisor each month.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

• Bachelors Degree in a related field and at least one year of experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
• Organization
• Multi-tasking
• Attention to detail
• Critical reading skills/editorial eye
• Ability to take initiative.
• Interest in working on non-fiction and fiction.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Basic understanding of how to operate electronic reading devices (Kindle, Nook, iPad)
• Flexibility
