A “hybrid” publicity position that will contribute to growing Scholastic brands and expand key licensed and pop culture publishing programs.


•Support the VP of Global Brand Publicity & Franchise Strategy to develop and execute “out of the box” campaigns for key properties.
•Be strategic, creative, collaborative and flexible: work closely with clients (talent/authors, brand partners).
•Build a network of ambassadors (bloggers and press in non-traditional platforms) and cultivate relationships (brand partners) to bring projects to bestseller status.
•Work closely with marketing, creative, editorial and sales teams to create customized and strategic events/tours that will generate and sustain buzz for key properties and authors.
•Take responsibility for all aspects of author tours: booking travel, coordinating logistics, etc.
•Write customized press materials/pitch letters.
•Identify and monitor trends and competitive markets.
•Attend key industry conventions (gaming, licensing, etc.) as needed.


•A minimum 2-4 years of experience in youth media, book PR, and/or brand development.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure, prioritize, and meet tight and constantly changing deadlines.
•Excellent writing, organizational, and presentation skills.
•Willing to travel if/when necessary.
•Demonstrated interest in pop culture, social media, gaming, digital PR a strong plus.
•Self-starter and team player capable of multi-tasking.
