The Guilford Press is seeking a talented production editorial professional looking to advance his or her career in academic publishing. The candidate will work with the Managing Editor to ensure the timely production of all titles, print and electronic, while maintaining Guilford’s high editorial standards.

Responsibilities for this hands-on position include:
• Production Editor for a limited number of titles each month.
• Troubleshooting technical issues for InDesign coding, art work, and other images.
• Coordinating and troubleshooting production for all ebook formats.

The position also supervisors 7 staff members who handle:
• Typesetting.
• Production of digital products.
• Online supplements and samples.
• Permission, copyrights and product archives.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of book production editing with demonstrated increases in responsibility and supervisory experience. The candidate must have superior copy editing, proofreading and trafficking skills. The ability to utilize Excel and databases, as well as knowledge of and enthusiasm for the ebook environment, is needed to thrive in this role. Familiarity with American Psychological Association style, InDesign, and permissions is a plus. This position requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis on English language.
