Radish Media Inc.
New York, NY
Radish Fiction, a mobile platform for serial fiction, is hiring a Content Acquisition Associate who can bring top quality stories and authors to Radish. You must be passionate about creating and distributing engaging stories in the digital world, as well as discovering rich literary talent. You will be a relentless agent of sorts who will scour the literary universe to bring the best of both the traditionally published and self-published worlds, whether they are a NYT bestseller or a gifted fanfiction author, to Radish. This is a full time contract position with potential for full time employment offer.

You are a critical thinker with excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and intense attention to detail. You are a natural storyteller/salesman who can learn how to pitch Radish to an alien. You can quickly understand the problems that we are solving and how we do so. You feel equally comfortable talking with a friend, a colleague, a Fortune 100 CEO, or a client. You must be driven, highly organized, self-motivated, disciplined, and be able to work effectively cross-departmentally to assist in all of our content needs. You take initiative without anybody asking and you are not afraid to go the extra mile. You can effectively manage multiple projects and work hard to find creative solutions under tight timeframes. You feel comfortable on the phone with anyone. You are excited to learn and you are passionate about media, content, storytelling, and technology. If you are passionate about stories across fiction genres, ranging from romance and mystery to SFF and even fanfiction, you hold a critical literary mind, and want to start an exciting career in digital media and entertainment, we would love to hear from you.

• Develop and execute strategy for acquiring fiction content, sourcing it from the traditionally published and self-published worlds
• Develop key relationships with authors, agents, and publishers
• Build content pipeline around specific fiction genres and verticals, such as Romance, Mystery/Thriller, Sci-Fi and Fantasy
• Participate in all aspects of content acquisition and negotiation
• Develop market expertise through continuous focus on and knowledge of the market environment

• Demonstrated mastery of verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to manage and process detailed information while keeping perspective on the bigger picture
• Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and across multiple geographies and time zones
• Excellent project and time management skills
• Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Google Docs

• Prior talent/literary agency, television, studio, or media-focused technology experience (we especially prefer candidates who worked at talent or literary agencies as an agent assistant.)
• BA/BS required
• 2 years of relevant work experience preferred
• Prior negotiation/sales experience
