Radish Fiction, a serialized reading platform for smartphones, seeks a motivated individual to join the team in the role of Editorial Assistant, Romance. Reporting directly to the current Romance Editor, this individual will assist in the acquisition and management of romance authors as they publish their original serialized fiction and backlist titles on the Radish platform. This is a multifaceted assistant role in a start-up environment that requires flexibility, agility, and a deep love of reading and readers. This is a full time contract position with potential for full time employment offer.

Experience working with the romance genre and a strong understanding of the current romance market
Minimum of 1-2 years experience in publishing, specifically in the romance genre
Strong communication skills and the ability to write clearly
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and at creative problem-solving
A can-do attitude and a willingness to perform tasks both big and small to contribute to the company’s success

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Assist the Romance Editor with the day-to-day management of writers—create and manage writer accounts, provide technical guidance, draft email correspondence, and be the initial point of contact for authors
Help to organize and manage publication and marketing schedules for the Editor’s large list of writers
Keep writer database and project management platforms up to date
Monitor and analyze trend and sales data on a weekly basis
Find creative ways to expand uses and opportunities for Radish
Work closely with internal teams (e.g., support, operations) to troubleshoot on behalf of authors and to relay the needs and concerns of authors to the product team
Administrative tasks as needed
