We are looking for full-time assistant with 1-2 years experience working with contracts in a publishing or agency environment. Primary responsibilities will be vetting and generating contracts, entering deal/contract terms into our database and tracking them through the process, as well as providing some general support to the agent staff. Legal background is not required but contracts experience is.

The ideal candidate is highly responsible, discreet, and super organized. They should have exceptional communication (phone, written, in person) skills, a good sense of humor, and be highly adaptive. They have some foundation in working with contracts or in payment processing within the world of publishing, but other qualifying backgrounds will be considered. They seek a highly collaborative, creative environment and a desire to expand their knowledge of the business.

This is a great position for someone working in a contracts department but who wants to eventually work towards the more creative end of the business. Growth potential is high.

Tech fluency is important. Being a highly engaged reader of (especially non-fiction) is a big plus.

Given the sensitive nature of the work, you must be able to provide recent references and sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment.
