Publicity Manager, Ten Speed Press
Ten Speed Press's Publicity Manager will work within an established, well-organized department to publicize our critically acclaimed, award-winning gift and lifestyle list.

Position Summary:
Manage the planning and execution of publicity campaigns for 6-8 lifestyle titles per season. This includes: pitching and securing national and local media, including print and online reviews and features, television, and radio interviews; composing press materials and researching media contacts; representing TSP at local author events and to the local media community; and assembling logistics of book events and tours as needed, including coordinating signings and media in the tour markets and handling travel arrangements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Work directly with author, agent, and internal team on 6-8 titles per season
* Conceive all aspects of publicity campaign and present to both external and internal stakeholders.
* Promote books/authors to media (print, online, broadcast, etc.)
* Write press materials, compile press kits, oversee galley and finished copy mailings, create pitch letters, and manage other promotional materials on a daily basis
* Research and seek out new media outlets and pursue online publicity opportunities; make initial calls and follows up on leads
* Organize tours, events, appearances, and travel arrangements for authors to publicize books and generate sales
* Compile media news clips and press coverage of books for distribution to division departments; distribute relevant articles and catalog all publicity hits in internal database
* Attend internal title-specific meetings regarding publicity campaigns
* Submit key titles for awards
* Attend local author events as a representative of Ten Speed Press
* Attend specific book shows and conferences as needed
* Special projects as assigned

* Strong attention to detail
* Follow-up on items to ensure timelines are met
* Ability to work independently on multiple complex projects at one time
* Ability to travel for work, as needed
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
* Bachelor's degree

Experience and Education:
* Bachelor's degree
* 4-5 years experience in book publicity, specifically in the gift and lifestyle space.
