Penguin Random House is seeking an Assistant Manager or Manager to join the production team in Penguin Publishing Group! This role will manage the production and manufacturing of reprints for a title list of approximately 2,000 titles a year. Working with a variety of internal departments, including Editorial, Managing Editorial, and Art and Design, this position plays a key role in the process of creating a physical book.

Specific responsibilities include:
* Issuing the book and component purchase orders for the title list's reprints.
* Negotiating schedules with the internal publishing teams and with external vendors.
* Following up with our vendors to ensure that schedules are being held.
* Ordering and routing approvals for all text and component reprint corrections.
* Approving necessary invoices.
* Running P&L estimates for reprints as needed for the sales and inventory teams.
* Checking for quality issues between reprinted editions, which include color consistency, matching component printings, potential bindings, and interior text print issues on reprint sample copies.
* Attending reprint meetings as needed and liaising regularly with inventory management, managing editorial, and front list production.

Minimum Requirements
* Minimum of 3-4 years' experience in book publishing; production experience strongly preferred
* Strong estimating skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organization skills
* Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline driven environment
* Strong attention to detail
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Knowledge of SAP, FileMaker Pro, InDesign a plus
