Supervise an imprint for ages 0-5. Acquire and edit approximately thirty projects per year. Manage all aspects of editorial and design, and work with the design department to maintain the overall aesthetic and identity of this award-winning and best-selling list.

Essential Functions
• Manage, support, and drive the publication process for thirty books per year
• Develop and seek out interesting formats and creatively develop submissions or external ideas
• Scout and hire authors, illustrators, and photographers
• Seek out fresh talent and ideas for the age group
• Maintain current knowledge of competitors’ products and 0-5 trends

Key Skills / Experience
• Familiarity with young children, and a passion for young children’s books and product
• Minimum of 7-10 years editorial experience in children’s book publishing and/or product
• Ability to transcend the “editorial umbrella” and consider the marketing and sales angles
• Current knowledge of the children’s book market, and an ability to identify opportunities
• Desire and ability to work collaboratively, respectfully, enthusiastically in an environment where creativity, innovative thinking, and an excellent work ethic are highly valued
• Sufficient knowledge of the manufacturing and production process for novelty
• Illustrator, agent, and packager contacts a plus
