SUMMARY:
Little, Brown Books for Young Readers seeks an energetic, organized and detail-oriented marketing professional to join the School & Library Marketing Department. The department promotes Young Readers titles to librarians and educators across the country through a variety of methods including targeted campaigns, conference attendance, print and online advertising, social meida, e-newsletter updates, mailings, and more. In this role, you will:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with the Senior Manager, School & Library Marketing on all logistics for approximately 5-6 school and library conferences a year (including booth arrangements, hotel reservations, shipping, and author travel).
• Write copy for advertising, promotional items, social media posts, newsletters.
• Maintain outreach and records for the Author/Illustrator Appearance program.
• Research award guidelines, coordinate and maintain submissions.
• Manage departmental database and review copy mailings.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of School & Library marketing campaigns.
• Coordinate departmental communications.
• Liaise with the Sales Department on metadata information projects.
• Other special projects as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years experience in book publishing/book retail; library and/or educational marketing experience in a children’s book environment is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with multiple social media platforms.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings regardless of audience.
• Must be results driven, and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed.
• Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work product and demonstrate good follow up and follow through.
