Posting Salary: $67,500 - $102,600 (minimum to mid-point of grade)

Position Summary:

Under general direction, has responsibility for developing the strategic growth plan and list strategy for the environmental studies program, acquiring up to 25 titles per year. Publish titles that demonstrate high scholarly standards and achieve profit & growth targets. Conceive of book ideas. Identify, seek out, and interview scholarly authors for the purpose of obtaining manuscripts and proposals. Judge whether or not the projects are publishable editorially and financially. Obtain critical reviews from authoritative readers, judge the critical readings and reject manuscripts or present them before the faculty editorial committee. Negotiate contract terms that meet press financial targets. Have thorough knowledge of the publishing process. Coordinate with other press programs focused in this area, especially Case Studies in the Environment and Elementa. Meet specific annual signing and transmittal goals for this list. Provide oversight to at least one editorial assistant.
