 Requirements: 
Manage the editorial process for Abrams Plus (Calendars and Noterie paper product line, including journals, notebooks, day planners, cards, and gift-worthy paper goods) and select non-fiction and trade adult titles.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Editorial, Design, and Production departments to create and manage schedules that support Sales and Marketing deadlines and ensure timely delivery of products
• Copyedit and proofread materials at all phases of production
• Guide products through the preproduction process, including collating and checking corrections on layouts, color proofs, and bluelines
• Hire, manage, and evaluate freelance copyeditors, tech editors, and proofreaders
• Use title management system (TMM) to maintain accurate product data and schedules; assist with Edelweiss and Onix feeds
• Contribute to production meetings
• Assist with materials for sales and marketing uses
• Work on seasonal catalogs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3 - 5 years’ experience as a managing editor or production editor in the book industry, preferably for an illustrated-book publisher
• Expert-level copy editing (on hard copy and electronically) and proofreading
• Thorough command of the Chicago Manual of Style
• Experience hiring and managing freelance workers
• Proven ability to create and manage schedules
• Proven ability to track multiple projects and meet important editorial production dates in a deadline-drive environment
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically across departments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Acrobat Pro
• Knowledge of Firebrand systems a plus
