The Publishing Operations group seeks a Senior Production Manager to service the PRH Publishing Services clients with their print production needs.

The Senior Production Manager will be responsible for both initial and reprint titles for a number of publishers with specific imprint identities. In aggregate, the books have varied formats: Hardcover, Trade Paperback, Mass Market and Board Books, with a wide range of book specifications.

The ideal candidate will be service oriented with an eye toward growing the business, have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Working with clients to understand their production needs and budgets.
* Providing technical guidance with regard to print fidelity, stock, laminations, etc.
* Maintaining accurate specifications in SAP
* Preparing estimates and client quotes, which may include negotiating pricing with vendors as well as presenting options to publishers if they are seeking alternatives that will reduce costs
* Maintaining schedule adherence by tracking the progress of titles through production using PRH system reporting and communicating often with clients and vendors.
* Writing and sending purchase orders to component printers and binderies
* Pre-flighting Print Ready files and checking/routing proofs
* Setting up Drop Shipment Information in the PRH system
* Checking vendor invoices and ensuring Client Quote to Client Billing match
* Inspecting samples to ensure that the publisher's quality expectations are met

Requirements:
* 5+ years of book production experience
* Experience with 1, 2 and 4/color printing
* Knowledge of various paper stocks, case materials, special effects, laminations and coatings
* Knowledge of SAP and Excel
* Knowledge of InDesign a plus
