Penguin Random House is seeking a Senior Publicist to work within the Avery and TarcherPerigee imprints. Reporting to the Associate Director of Publicity, this role will manage all aspects of book campaigns and author tours and will interact with authors, media, editors, agents, and event coordinators. This is a fantastic opportunity to publicize titles in the health, wellness, self-help, and serious non-fiction categories.

Specific responsibilities include:
* Creating and executing publicity campaigns for Avery and TarcherPerigee.
* Pitching and securing national and local print, broadcast, and online media.
* Writing press materials relating to a book's campaign, including press releases, pitch letters, and other promotional materials.
* Creating and managing media lists and building strong relationships with key media contacts.
* Pitching and scheduling author events and interviews, coordinating travel and hotel accommodations for touring authors, and creating detailed tour schedules.
* Collaborating closely with the Editorial, Marketing, Sales, and Promotional teams to create successful campaigns.
* Keeping detailed records of confirmed reviews, interviews, press coverage, and author appearances.

* Minimum of 3-4 years of publicity experience, publishing experience a plus
* Proven ability to generate creative angles and pitches
* Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
* Proven ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize
* Superior presentation skills
* Excellent communication and organization skills
* Exceptional writing skills and strong attention to detail
* Understanding of social media as a marketing tool
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
* Knowledge of Cision, Muckrack and Publishers Work Bench a plus
