Overall Role Summary
Taylor & Francis, a global academic publisher, is looking for a Marketing Manager with experience in content marketing to join our Market Development group. As part of our team's efforts to increase brand awareness, promote a diverse product portfolio, and drive customer engagement, the Marketing Manager will curate and create content that highlights the breadth and depth of our Higher Education publishing program.
In collaboration with the Senior Marketing Manager, the Marketing Manager will develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing plan and feed valuable insights back to relevant stakeholders across the business in order to shape overall objectives and maximize revenue and customer retention. This role requires the ability to combine creative and critical thinking, as well as an understanding of the customer, competition, and the latest opportunities and trends in Higher Education.
Working with the Senior Marketing Manager, translate strategic objectives into a cohesive and coherent content marketing program made up of a range of engaging content pieces to deploy across marketing channels as appropriate
Integrate thematic content into the Higher Education marketing and sales funnel with the goal of driving awareness, engagement, conversion, and retention
Regularly measure, assess, and optimize the content program, advocating for and implementing changes as necessary in order to maximize results
Analyze and report on campaigns and projects, evaluating success rate and providing recommendations for improvements
Maintain and develop an awareness of external issues and market developments, including competitor activities, customer needs, advances in technology, and academic trends; share findings with both the Higher Education marketing team and the wider business
The ideal candidate will have:
A solid understanding of content marketing tactics, as well as previous experience executing a content-focused marketing plan
The ability to develop engaging content consistent with overall brand voice and messaging
A proven track record of goal-achievement in a marketing role
A minimum of 3-4 years' experience in publishing or a related field
The ability and confidence to work independently, and proactively identify opportunities to improve practices and processes
Strong customer focus and a commitment to understanding customer needs and expectations
Skills and Behaviors Required
Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with digital analytics platforms and the ability to translate data into actionable insights
Drive to create interesting, engaging, and original content for the Higher Education market
A penchant for strategic thinking and problem-solving
