Analytics Manager (Independent Publishing Company)
Ulysses Press, a trade book press with offices in Berkeley, California, and New York City, New York, is looking for a part-time analytics specialist to join our publishing team.
This job reports to the executive vice president and the senior acquisitions editor. This person will work closely with the Ulysses Press acquisitions department in our New York City office to find viable book projects on a wide variety of non-fiction topics.
Manage Ulysses proprietary database.
Deliver reporting on book trends.
Gather, maintain, distribute and analyze internal sales metrics.
Work with the acquisitions team to analyze data to improve pricing, titling decisions, packaging, etc.
Play a key role in determining future growth and development of Ulysses analytics-driven publishing strategy
Strong Excel skills required.
A working knowledge of SQL, Python, HTML and CSS.
Strong statistics skills including: ability to produce time-series forecasts, A/B tests and multivariate regression models.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate quantitative insights.
Past experience in publishing a plus.
