 Requirements: 
A new publishing imprint is looking for an ambitious Editor to join their team. The Editor will be responsible for acquiring commercial genre fiction and identifying talent to work on licensed books.

Editor will be responsible for supervising titles through all stages of the editing process, and coordinating book production, from acquisition to publication. Candidates must have a proven track record of finding and working with genre writers; knowledge of digital publishing and comic books preferred.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment, is always on the lookout for exceptional book proposals, and excels at collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities:

• 2+ years of experience in an editorial capacity at an adult trade publishing house.
• Acquires manuscripts that meet the goals of the publishing program.
• Proposes and evaluates new projects; works with high-level authors on shaping and developing material.
• Reads, evaluates, and edits manuscripts and proposals.
• Maintains schedules.
• Develops relationships with authors and agents with a view to future acquisitions.
• Negotiates purchase of manuscripts with authors and agents.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
