MIKE’S PLACE, A True Story of Love, Blues and Terror in Tel Aviv
Aug. 6, 2014
Author:  Jack Baxter & Joshua Faudem
Category:  Non-fiction: Narrative
Description:  American documentary filmmaker Jack Baxter was blown up in a terrorist attack in Mike's Place, a live music bar on the beach in Tel Aviv while making a film about peace, love and humanity in the Mideast. Baxter lived to tell about it, and with his wife, Fran Strauss-Baxter, produced an award-winning film about the experience, entitled "Blues By The Beach." Baxter has now written a powerful graphic novel with Joshua Faudem, the film's director, about the terrorists, the victims and the survivors. "MIKE'S PLACE, A True Story of Love, Blues and Terror in Tel Aviv" will be published by First Second imprint at MacMillan in June 2015.
