Other information:  Born and raised in Colorado to Iranian parents, Beebe Bahrami is a widely published writer and anthropologist. She has two books, The Spiritual Traveler Spain (Paulist Press, 2009) and Historic Walking Guides Madrid (DestinWorld Publishing, 2009). She also has written for diverse publications, such as National Geographic, Michelin Green Guides, the Pennsylvania Gazette, and Archaeology, Bark, Wag, Expedition, and Wine Enthusiast magazines. Beebe's essay, "Grinding Saffron" was selected for The Best Women's Travel Writing 2010 and she recently won Bronze in Funny Travel in the 2013 Solas/Travlers' Tales Best Travel Writing contest for her essay "The Night Bus Across Northern Spain." Prior to fulltime freelance writing, she was a university professor, an ethnographic consultant, and the head editor of Expedition, the Smithsonian-like magazine of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. She is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
