Picture Perfect: The Jodi Arias Story-(FILM RIGHTS)
Mar. 31, 2013
Author:  Shanna Hogan
Category:  Film rights
Description:  Picture Perfect will be published this Fall by St. Martin's Press. This book was sold two years ago before Jodi Arias became a household name....for all the wrong reasons. At 96,000 words, the ending is being written as the trial wraps up with an expected GUILTY verdict and the punishment of LIFE or DEATH.

Picture Perfect is the shocking true story of the death of Travis Alexander, a successful 30-year-old businessman, motivational speaker and devout Mormon, who was brutally murdered in his Mesa, Arizona, home in the summer of 2008. Travis' severally decomposed body was discovered days later inside his master bathroom shower. He had been shot in the face, stabbed thirteen times and his throat had been slit from ear to ear.

Soon police had a suspect—Jodi Arias, a beautiful, 29-year-old aspiring photographer. One year prior Travis and Jodi had dated and secretly engaged in a sordid sexual relationship. But their romance meant much more to Jodi than to Travis. Her jealously ultimately drove the couple apart and Travis ended their affair.

That's when Jodi's infatuation turned into an obsession. After their break-up she moved just a few miles from Travis' house and began to stalk him. She slashed his tires, broke into his home, stole his journals and sent harassing e-mails to girls he was dating. Much of this drama played out on the social networking websites MySpace and Facebook, where Jodi often hacked into his account and posted vicious messages.

When questioned by detectives Jodi claimed she was away in Utah at the time of the murder, but the evidence proved otherwise. Jodi's DNA, blood, hair and fingerprints were found throughout the crime scene. Inside the washing machine police also made an unusual discovery—a new digital camera. Even though the camera had been run through the wash and the memory card had been wiped clean, detectives were able to recover sexually provocative photos of Travis and Jodi taken on the last day he was seen alive. Most disturbingly, the last three photos depicted Travis in the shower as he was dying.

That evidence, and Jodi's changing story, was enough for her arrest. Picture Perfect is the suspenseful true crime account of the tumultuous relationship between Travis and Jodi, his gruesome murder and her upcoming trial. The Jodi Arias case has already received national media coverage as the "crime of the century." Picture Perfect is a story riddled with sex, lust, deceit and deadly obsession—soon to be a true crime best seller. Shanna Hogan is an award-winning journalist and author of the book, Dancing with Death: The True Story of a Glamorous Showgirl, Her Wealthy Husband and a Horrifying Murder, which was published in May, 2011 by St. Martin's Press.
