In the Courtyard of the Kabbalist
Jan. 9, 2013
Author:  Ruchama King Feuerman
Category:  Digital: Fiction: General
Description:  Set in Jerusalem, IN THE COURTYARD OF THE KABBALIST is the story of two expatriate Americans (a kabbalist's assistant and a motorcycle-riding striking woman) and a deformed Arab janitor whose lives become intertwined romantically, spiritually, and dangerously in the courtyard of an elderly kabbalist. It's literary fiction, but plot driven. Isaac, the kabbalist's assistant, helps heal the injured spirit of Mustafa, the deformed Arab janitor. The two are deeply frightened of what they sense and know about each other, but they dare to break away, if only slightly. It is a fable-like story that takes a stand for life.
