The Lifeblood of Ill-fated Women
Sept. 12, 2013
Author:  Kevin James Breaux
Category:  Fiction: Horror
Description:  When the Norse village of Birka is invaded, ASTRID is ready to fight, but before she can join the fray, she loses consciousness and awakens in a snow-covered field. Disoriented and upset, she stumbles to a nearby farming village where she struggles to communicate, to fit in, and to figure out just how far from home she is and how she got there.

Before she can find any answers, the village is attacked and, throat cut, she has no recourse but to anticipate Valhalla and hope the answers she has been searching for will be found there… but she does not ascend, adding yet another mystery to her life. In THE LIFEBLOOD OF ILL-FATED WOMEN, a 101,894 word dark fantasy horror novel interwoven with Norse mythology, Astrid learns some answers are not simple, and sometimes they create even more questions.

The tale of Astrid's journey from a warrior to Valkyrie to immortal in Midgard will appeal to fans of the current Viking and Fantasy television and movie trends, Norse mythology, and strong female protagonists.

Other information:  I have been a professional writer for almost six years now and I have never stopped striving to better myself as an author as well as aid my fellow writers. In the last two years, I have seen some success, and I am now writing full time. After spending two consecutive years on the Bram Stoker Award shortlist, I am pleased to be able to inform you that publishers now request short stories from me for their anthologies (I have two current requests for 2014). It helps to have a growing fan base(including foreign markets in Russia and the UK), and the support of professionals like Jonathan Maberry, Peter Orullian and Dan Dos Santos.

In the past year, I have worked incredibly hard to improve my writing. Since last Summer, with the aid of a professional editor, I have edited three novels, two of them twice. I have learned a lot and I am very happy with the results. What I really need now is an agent to represent this, and my many future projects. I'm a fighter; let me fight for both of us. I encourage you to check out my profile here on Publishersmarketplace.com.
