Composed of thirty-four short episodes, each focuses on a different aspect of Davey Monroe's life as he grows from about age four or five to age twelve. Some of them describe his relationships with his parents, teachers, friends, strangers, "aliens" or enemies. Others examine his budding sexuality, his schooling, his ever-expanding explorations or the developing sense of his own, personal place in the world. Like all of us, he has moments of triumph and moments of tragedy. And like all of us, he learns the great lessons of life--the most important of which we all learned in childhood, too.
