Author Grogan returned from Hawaii after another round of book signings of Captain Cooked, August 11-15th, 2011.

Author signings were held at Wyland Galleries and Royal Kona 'Mai Tai Festival'. Author contributed copies of Captain Cooked to Hawaii State Library system and met with Honolulu Mayor to promote island tourism as set forth in the Captain Cooked story.

‘Cooked’ Mystery Receives Hawaii Book Publishers Award

Captain Cooked by S.P. Grogan, has been recognized by the Hawai’i Book Publishers Association (HBPA) with a 2011 Ka Palapla Po'okela Award, and one of two novels this year to receive the Aloha from Across the Sea special award which recognizes excellence in books about Hawai'i or with a Hawaiian theme which are published outside of the state.
The HBPA Awards ceremonies were held on May 6th in Honolulu, and local distributors of Captain Cooked, the Islander Group (Booklines Hawai'i), accepted the award on behalf of author S.P. Grogan and the book’s publishers, Addison & Highsmith Publishers. The term “Ka Palapala Po'okela” can be translated from Hawaiian to mean “excellent or exemplary manuscript.”
