I am the founding editor of L.A. Style and Si magazines, and a founder of the L.A. Weekly. I have consulted with such groups as Weider Publishing and Los Angeles Magazine. My published books include a memoir, "Marked for Life," a non-fiction work, "Infusions of Healing: A Treasury of Mexican-American Remedies," and two anthologies, which I co-edited with Esmeralda Santiago, "Las Christmas" and "Las Mamis." My latest book, "I Wouldn't Leave Rome to Go to Heaven" has just been published. "Times Past Rome" will be published in September.
I am currently co-founder and editor of a weekly online magazine, www.InRomeNow.com. In the past year I have written three audio guides to Rome, translated screenplays, treatments and websites from Italian to English, as well as other freelance editing, writing and translating assignments.
