The Schiavone Literary Agency, Inc., was established in 1996 by James Schiavone, Ed.D. Dr. Schiavone is professor emeritus of developmental skills at the City University of New York. He has authored three textbooks and five trade books as well as numerous articles in newspapers, magazines and professional journals. He is a noted authority in the psychology of reading.

Dr. Schiavone represents published authors. He accepts queries only and will consider material of high literary quality and marketability from new authors.

Do not send large envelopes with queries, proposals, synopses, sample chapters, etc., unless specifically requested. We do not handle poetry, short stories, anthologies or children's picture books. No scripts or screen plays. Our affiliate in California, Morgenstern Entertainment, handles dramatic, film and TV rights, options, and screen plays for books we have agented. We are not interested in work previously published in any format (i.e., self-published; online; ebooks; Print On Demand). For fastest response (usually same day or next day) one page email queries are acceptable and encouraged. We do not download email attachments unless specifically requested.
