#1 New York Times Bestseller
|
I admire many people in the book business, but those I admire the most are other independent publishers. So having worked in other people’s publishing companies for 20 years, in 2009 I set up The Experiment.
The Experiment's list covers a wide range of practical and narrative nonfiction, including books on popular science and nature, food and cooking (with most of our books in these areas having a healthful focus), biography and some history (I'm particularly interested in prehistory), health and wellness, psychology and personal development, parenting, relationships, and sexuality.
By early 2013 we will have published just over 60 titles. Our bestsellers include Forks Over Knives: The Plant-Based Way to Health, a tie-in to a feature documentary/DVD also called Forks Over Knives, which in October 2011 became a #1 New York Times bestseller, as well as its sequel, Forks Over Knives—The Cookbook, also a New York Times bestseller.
In addition to all that you can glean about The Experiment, and our books and authors, from our website, let me also say that I gravitate toward books that present highly proprietary information or a singular perspective; are exceptionally useful, although sometimes in nonstandard ways; and address an urgent need on the part of readers—with regard to health, well-being, or simple curiosity. And they must be (at the very least) competently written and distinctively voiced.
The Experiment's books are distributed by Workman Publishing Company in the US and around the world by its affiliates, including Thomas Allen & Son in Canada, Melia Publishing Services in the UK, Capricorn Link in Australia, and Bookreps NZ Limited in New Zealand.
I look forward to hearing from you and to the prospect of doing business with you.
