After being spurned at a young age by a man she felt she would end up in love with she discovers she has the ability to heal magically. Desiring to learn more about her abilities Opal leaves home to join the High Council of Mages. Years pass and Opal, as one of the few female students, has worked hard, constantly struggling for her mentor’s recognition. Mastering every spell at her disposal Opal becomes one of most powerful students the council has ever had.

When the day an invading warlord threatens the peace of the lands of Cyrdova, Opal develops a plan that would insure her rise in the ranks of the council. If all works he would be a student no longer.

KARN was a simple fisherman; married to a woman he loved more than anything else in life. Blessed with a child, Karn felt at peace until Opal ripped him from his life and executed his family. Opal had loved him for the day they met, and now she would insure he loved her back. As part of her diabolical plan Opal presents Karn to her teachers as a vessel for an ancient warlord's soul, one that will empower him to become a champion strong enough to stop the villain devastating the lands. Knowing full well his memories will be wiped clean, she offers to build him new ones; a past that will include her in every way. Accepting her plan she casts a spell to control him then leads him off to find allies in the coming war.

Over time Opal begins to suspect the council has ulterior motives. Perhaps they are not the men who they claim to be. During her travels she discovers more and more hints that suggest the mages of the High Council, the same men who trained her, are in fact pure evil; responsible for the invading warlord, and maybe even responsible for her killer instinct. Needing to learn who she really is; sinner or saint, Opal confronts her instructors. The result; a bloody confrontation. Yet even after discovering the truth about her teachers Opal teeters back and forth between good and evil while trying to decide which path fulfills her selfish desires best.

SOUL BORN runs 108,800 words, and is a fast-paced read with a heart-breaking resolution. The book stresses action and story combined with colorful characters and a fast-moving plot spiced with several twists. SOUL BORN is the first in a projected trilogy detailing a series of adventures with life, death, and love as the main characters seek the truth of their existence amid the warring kingdoms and mighty magicians of a fantastic world. The book is ready for email or hardcopy mailing, along with a synopsis. The sequels are in development, with book two in the final edit stage, and book three in first draft. As a side note I have one horror short story that will be published this June 2008 and several others in the submission stage. I am also writing an urban fantasy novel, which has been a true pleasure.

With my skills as a graphic artist and designer, I can easily support/promote/advertise all my future endeavors. I believe it is the authors responsibility to promote themselves as much as possible, so I am willing to create my own print and web ads and find distribution for them as well as execute a social/viral marketing plan that will include sites such as amazon.com, myspace.com, linkedin.com, wordpress.com, bksp.org, and many other forums.
