The Frances Goldin Literary Agency is one of New York’s premier boutique literary agencies, representing over 150 authors of fiction and nonfiction. Founded in 1977, the agency is committed to books that change the world as well as engage and enlighten. Among our award-winning and bestselling writers are Dorothy Allison, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Eula Biss, John D’Agata, Martin Duberman, Deborah Harkness, Barbara Kingsolver, James Kugel, Adrienne Rich, Siva Vaidhyanathan and Mike Wallace.
As a full-service agency, we handle film, serial, translation and other subsidiary rights sales, as well as offering career management, marketing assistance and online and digital resources for our clients. We are energized by the changing book market and work to help our authors thrive in this challenging publishing environment.
Great stories get my attention, whether for fiction or nonfiction. I agent almost all genres except for romance, science fiction and new-age. In the nonfiction arena, I'm looking for cutting-edge issues, quirky and original memoirs, popular science, history, politics (progressive only), international, multicultural and feminist topics of all kinds. Almost any nonfiction topic in which the writing is strong would capture my interest. Work by journalists, poets and academics wanting to write books for a general market is of special interest.
I also represent selected children's and young adult projects.
