A Venetian Affair by Andrea diRobilant
|
Michael V. Carlisle, founder of Carlisle & Company, merged his agency in 2004 with Arthur Pine Associates and Witherspoon Associates to create InkWell Management, located at 521 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10175. In a short time InkWell has become one of the leading agencies in the world.
Carlisle/InkWell represented four 2006 NBCC Finalists, including the 2006 NBCC Winner in Fiction (The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai) and the 2006 Winner in Non-Fiction (Rough Crossings by Simon Schama).
Carlisle came to literary agenting from a long line of writers. Born in Paris, of Russian heritage, he graduated from Yale and holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School. He briefly practiced international law in Paris before returning to live and work as an agent in New York.
