DeFiore and Company is a full service literary agency located in New York's Union Square area. Its founder, Brian DeFiore, has over twenty five years of experience in the book publishing industry, having served as publisher of Villard Books at Random House, as Editor-in-Chief of Hyperion and of Delacorte Press, and a senior editor at William Morrow and at St. Martin's Press. As an editor, some of the authors Brian worked with include Ridley Pearson, T. Jefferson Parker, James Lee Burke, Ken Follett, Daniel Silva, Eve Ensler, Bill Carter, Rinker Buck, Laurence Shames, Leonard Nimoy, M. Scott Peck, and Linda Barnes. The agency was started in 1999, and since then has sold well over 100 book projects to every major US publisher, in virtually all International publishing markets and for feature film and televisison adaptations. With the addition of agents Laurie Abkemeier, Kate Garrick, and Adam Korn, the agency's breadth of experience and range of interests continues to expand to best serve its clients. Brian is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Authors Representatives and is an adjunct faculty member at the NYU Center for Publishing.
