Need some social media brilliance?
|
Don't have time to blog?
You're not alone. The idea that authors not only have to write the book, they have to write a blog to go along with it, have to Twitter everything they think on an hourly basis, have to gather a Facebook following, send out an email newsletter, handle some direct mail to bookstores and book clubs to set up book signings and appearances, all while striving to protect what was once their precious book writing time is a hard pill to swallow.
You don't have to do it all yourself.
That's where I come in. As a social media strategist and editorial consultant, I provide real-time solutions for you to prepare your social media platform and market strategy. My job is to help you think through what exactly you are trying to accomplish. As a result, you become more social. I work via phone and email and help you drill down into the core themes of your book that can be used online. Your social media platform then shapes your blog, your Twitter, your Facebook fan and group pages and every single piece of communication you write for your readers.
Seem like overkill?
It's not so much overkill as overwhelmed. Every author has limited time in their day just to write their books, so to add blogging, Twitter, Facebook, marketing, eZine mailings, direct mail, publicity opportunities, and blog book tours may just about sink your ship. There's no reason to struggle along, harassing your poor agent or publicity manager for help with this. There's a better way. Make your publisher want to buy your next book and your next. Hire a professional.

"Trish provided the blogging experience I needed to obey my publisher's orders to get online. With her help, my blog helps boost my visibility to my readers. I'm very tech-savvy, but it's immensely reassuring to have Trish by your side as you navigate the unknown perils of social media platform building. The results are extremely satisfying and exciting, and I know Trish was the dependable go-to editorial consultant I needed to make my book launch the best it could be."

Fifteen years in the publishing business preparing books for publication and yet with the emergence of new media, my heart goes pitter-patter to help prepare authors to release their darlings into the world. Why social media?
I think because marketing has become very authentic for me. I could sit and brainstorm with any author how to better position themselves online. I've been blogging for myself and others since 2005. I no longer care as much about serial commas or kerning as I once did. I'd much rather talk blogging and Twitter and how to create an eZine so that authors can regularly communicate with their readers. That's my authenticity right there. Sure, I know where you put serial commas and I still help many publishing companies do that, but I'm just so intrigued by how authors and the Internet intersect in 2010 and beyond.
If I'm not reading online, you'll find me with my Kindle. Or on the phone talking strategy with an author. It's who I am.
