BIGGIE by Derek Sullivan

Art. Patience. Discipline.

I am proud to have recently joined the fabulous KT Literary! After 8 wonderful years of experience at Nelson Literary Agency and a short stint owning Megibow Literary Agency, I am thrilled to be working with Kate Testerman and her amazing team. My clients range from New York Times bestselling science fiction author Jason Hough to international bestselling erotica author Tiffany Reisz. Yes, I am currently open to submissions!

Here is more information about me:

My niche as an agent is in representing authors of middle grade, young adult, new adult, romance, erotica, science fiction and fantasy. Please no picture books, early readers, nonfiction, commercial fiction, horror, mystery or women's fiction. A book must be 100% complete and never previously published in order to query but as long as it meets these requirements, bring it on! I read all queries myself and am actively acquiring. My query email address is saraquery@ktliterary.com and my turn around time for queries is 3-10 days.

My greatest strength as an agent is in strategizing profitable long-term careers for my authors. I want my clients to love the books they write and make money writing them. Crafting that kind of balance between artistic and commercial success takes strategy and teamwork and, as stated above, "Art. Patience. Discipline."

In terms of personality, I tend to be pretty chatty with my clients. In my experience, setting clear expectations and explaining publishing processes helps my authors focus on writing great books. So, I communicate regularly and keep my client list small enough to support each author effectively.

Please reach out to me on twitter with further questions: twitter @SaraMegibow

Cheers,
Sara
