I am a fiction writer and I am an astrologer. So why, you may wonder, dont I write astrology books? Why fiction?
Ill tell you why: Because there are already WAY too many good books out there about astrology. Im not about to start reinventing the wheel. It works just fine.
As for fiction, I dont know how many astrologers out there write it. My advice is they really should. People would start reading again. Astrologers know more about character than psychologists and sociologists combined. (Do I have the quantitative research to back that claim? Of course not. But until someone proves Im wrong Ill go on my hunch and say Im right.)
Needless to say, my lifelong study of astrology has actually helped me immensely with developing my fictional characters. So its no wonder that the main character in my books is an astrologer. (Hey, I said I didnt write about astrology astrologers are another story. And no, these books are not autobiographical.)
My first two books in a series about astrologer Ariel McManus, "Ariel's Office: Moon Void of Course," and "Ariel and the Lady of the House: Moon in the 8th," are now available at www.synergebooks.com.
If you want to get a good sense of my writing style, please visit my Sun Sign Psycho-cology blog by going to my website, www.lauralynnsworld.com. Here you'll find my humorous and painfully honest take on the 12 illustrious Sun signs of the Zodiac, Aries through Pisces. What makes them tick? What drives them? What makes them cry for their mommies? Its a compilation of observations and (shockingly true) generalizations about the signs that Ive made over the course of a lifetime of studying astrology.
