Gabriel Gonzalez was born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 21st 1982. He likes to make it known that he was born on the same day as famous writer Stephen King, often stating that great minds were born on the same birthday. He graduated from Niagara Catholic high school in the year 2000, then went on to attend Buffalo State College until 2005 where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Minor in Religious Studies.
Ideas began to swirl in his head for creating stories ever since he was a child. He’s always had an extraordinary imagination but never quite knew how to get the stories out. Then he discovered writing. One day he took a pen, yes a pen considering it was the early 90’s, and began to write. He fell in love with it. It took years of reading books, playing video games, and watching movies for him to finally actually sit down and write a full novel himself. In fact, even though he started writing when he was a teenager his first published novel “Legend of the Phoenix: Rise of Crescent” didn’t get released until 2012, at the age of thirty.
The idea for his first novel came from reading books like Lord of the Rings and the Wheel of Time series. He’s been infatuated with epic fantasy novels since he was a kid. There is a certain love for creating different worlds with intriguing characters that people want to fall into. In writing fantasy novels he can create these worlds that people enjoy so much.
Fantasy novels aren’t the only genre he plans on writing in his career. “A Puncher’s Chance” is set to be released in May of 2013. It features a young boy’s struggle to make it through everyday life living as a poor kid from the streets, and his determination to become the champion of the world in one of the most brutal sports out there, Boxing. He also wants to write a couple of nonfiction books, a romance novel, and more importantly conclude his Legend of the Phoenix series that he has spent years playing out in his head.
Gabriel likes to live life to its fullest potential. He’ll try anything once if just asked to. He loves traveling but hates having to travel, if that makes sense. Boxing is something that he has a mild obsession with. He runs the news section at fightnights.com where he is able to write articles about his favorite sport. Most nights he can be found in a boxing gym, training and sparring with fighters for fun. He loves watching movies, eating junk food, and spending time with family and friends. Currently he has a girlfriend and resides in Niagara Falls, NY. Oh, and he absolutely adores his little mutt Coco who is known to jump onto the computer and add a few sentences of her own every now and then.

Quotes from "A Fighter's Chance"
"My father was gone at the age of six and my mother became a crack addict when I was seven. I can't afford my rent, my bills, nor do I have any idea where my next meal is going to come from. If there is a man with more anger in his heart than me, I would love to meet him."-Aiden Walker
"Boxing is a sport that demands your full attention. It must be your life. You must live it, you must sleep it, you must breathe it. The very thought of existing outside of the ring cannot exist."- Coach Kay
"Do not hold on to anger or hatred for the people you love. When you get mad, get over it. When you get angry, relax. When you don't want to talk to someone for whatever reason you have, walk up to them and work it out. One day you will wake up, tomorrow or twenty years from now, and it will seem like a normal day. You will go to work, go to the gym, clean the house, whatever it is that you do. Somewhere in that day, you will get a phone call or text, and someone that you love will have died. A brother, sister, mother, father, child, aunt, uncle, whoever it may be. If your heart is filled with malice and hatred, then you will regret it. But if it is filled with love and compassion, you will never regret anything you say and do to people. Each memory will be a great one. You will remember the good, because you chose to destroy the bad." -Henry Brass
"I don't know if I can win this fight. Hell I don't know if I'll ever be the champ that everyone expects me to be, but what I do know, is that I'm willing to die in that ring for it, and that has to count for something." -Aiden Walker
"Just because I do not speak does not mean I do not listen. Often, a man of few words has more to say than a man of many." -Kenyon Martin

Quotes from Legend of the Phoenix: Rise of Crescent
"Kids often look at hero's as men that kill the bad guys with the ease of their sword, with strength and confidence. They are not told of the pain that we feel, of the sacrifices that we make, and of the death that haunts our nights."- Shadow (Legend of the Phoenix: Rise of Crescent)
"A man's heart cannot be defined in times of prosperity and riches, but in times of darkness and despair." Sage (Legend of the Phoenix: Rise of Crescent)
"One man doesn't need to change the world, he only needs to change the world around him." Magus Guidan (Legend of the Phoenix: Rise of Crescent)
"What about what I want, what I feel? There is no sanctuary for me, there is only death." Shadow (Legend of the Phoenix: Rise of Crescent)

Legend of the Phoenix: Rise of Crescent was published by No Frills Buffalo in January of 2012. It has received great reviews on Goodreads.com, Amazon.com, and Barnesandnobles.com. It is not represented by anyone at the moment and is the first book I have ever published. In the novel, I create a typical fantasy world while mixing a powerful love story into it. I like to say it's The Notebook meets Lord of the Rings. It's a book about love, honor, friendship, and the difficult sacrifices that must be made to honor all of those things.

Legend of the Phoenix: Rise of Crescent
A fantasy novel about a innocent young boy that learns to grow up fast when the safety of his Kingdom is threatened by a civil war. In his aid is a gambling addict, womanizing soldier who is destined to attract trouble wherever he goes. A powerful but timid Ogre whose mere presence defies the laws set forth by the last war. Two very powerful Luna, one of which his witty, uncharacteristic ways does not reflect his knowledge or power. Another is a striking, intimidating woman whose true intentions can be masked by her inability to show any sort of emotion. Most important of all, is the beautiful Princess, whose relationship with the young boy will awake a dark ancient legend, a legend that will challenge the goodness of his heart to save millions of people or lead him to destroy a world that he thought he once loved.
