 Requirements: 
Routledge/Taylor & Francis has a vacancy for the position of Editor for its market-leading lists in the areas of Language and Literacy and ESL.

Reporting into the global Education team, the Editor will be responsible for acquiring and publishing a program of Textbooks, Scholarly, and Professional titles to ensure the strategic growth of the list. The role will involve building strong author relationships, maintaining a robust pipeline of contracted projects, and constantly staying abreast of trends that affect the field.

Key tasks will include:

Commissioning new books and new editions both through existing contacts and generating new leads
Tracking market trends and keeping abreast of key competitors to maintain market-oriented and customer-focused product signings.
Negotiating contracts and co-publication opportunities
Managing contracted titles to schedule and to budget
Liaising with internal and external colleagues to further the success of the list
Representing Routledge at conferences and other events
Managing relationships with series editors and key authors as appropriate
The successful applicant should exhibit an aptitude for highly organized teamwork, a collegiate attitude towards the sharing of projects and ideas, possess strong commercial awareness and be willing to travel throughout North America, Europe and the rest of the world as necessary. The ability to work towards demanding targets is essential. Previous commissioning experience is preferred.
