Brockman, Inc. is a prominent international literary agency founded in 1973. Our reputation is for working with authors in translating their ideas and information into successful, commercial books that we license directly to publishers around the world.

We are seeking a smart, capable, self-motivated and experienced individual to join the company as an agent and to begin building their own list of clients. The agency is known for serious non-fiction. Prior experience as either an agent or as an acquiring editor is required.

Responsibilities include: identifying and signing new clients and helping them develop their proposals; marketing and securing deals for new projects with US publishers; negotiating contracts in coordination with our contracts manager; working with our foreign rights team in selling rights to your clients’ projects in markets abroad; developing marketing materials for these projects for our use at the London and Frankfurt Book Fairs.
