 Requirements: 
The Countryman Press (an imprint of W.W. Norton) is seeking an Editor for travel guides and other subjects, including nature, outdoor how-to, and regional interest books. This person will work closely with the sales and marketing department to develop new books and to identify and revise outdated editions. This position is located in the New York office.

Responsibilities include:
• Acquisitions of new titles and revisions of existing series titles.
• Regular review of the current Countryman Press backlist titles.
• Management of manuscripts in all stages of production.
• Writing and producing copy, presenting titles when necessary.
• Working with the art department on cover design.
• Taking an active role in expanding the editorial vision of Countryman.

Required Qualifications:
• 1 – 3 years editorial experience, ideally pertaining to travel books
• Knowledge of the book industry
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills
• Must be proactive, flexible and adaptive in a rapidly changing environment and adjust with a “can-do” attitude.
• Must be self-directed and independent.
• Must be detail-oriented, making sure that all aspects of their daily activities are handled with accuracy and minimal mistakes.
• An interest in social media is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
