 Requirements: 
ABRAMS seeks a detail oriented individual, with excellent writing and communication skills, who will be responsible for acquiring and editing books for the ABRAMS program in the visual arts. Responsibilities include commissioning individual titles on subjects in the visual arts including art, photography, design, architecture and fashion; taking overall responsibility for concept, content and author/artist relationships of a diverse list of books including seeing new titles through all stages of the editing process, managing book schedules, collaborating with design and production on design and format of the publication; preparing sales materials including fact sheets, catalogue copy and presenting list at sales conferences; assuming responsibility for existing relationships and projects.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree; 5 - 10 years' experience in an editorial capacity at an adult trade publishing house (candidates with similar editorial experience in the art world or magazine journalism will be considered); strong acquisitions, proven sales record, keen understanding of the marketplace and innovative product development skills. We are seeking an individual with broad general knowledge of and passion for the visual arts, with established relationships with artists, photographers, writers and others in the world of art and visual culture, and the ability to conceive and bring in important projects.
