Your tasks
Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Marketing for Crown Illustrated and Harmony Books, this position is responsible for bringing Clarkson Potter, Potter Style and Potter Craft publications to the largest possible readership through innovative consumer-facing marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

�Works closely with the Marketing Director to create, communicate, and implement marketing campaigns for a variety of titles, focusing on cooking, design, fashion, lifestyle and gift categories
�Collaborates directly with authors and agents to explain, refine, and exact marketing plans, including traditional print advertising, online and social media promotions, and other cross-promotional opportunities
�Thinks deeply about available audiences for each book that we publish and ways to reach them through advertising and promotion
�Flexibly manages book promotion plans and budgets that grow and change over time
�Creates title-specific marketing campaigns for upcoming publications as well as titles currently in the marketplace
�Responsible for outreach and cold-calls to third-party brands for cross-promotion of books and authors
�Actively participates in Crown�s online social communities (e.g. Tastebook, Recipe Club and Books for Better Living), by coordinating author chats, giveaways, and content

Our requirements
Essential Abilities

�3-5 years minimum experience in book publishing, particularly with both literary and commercial fiction
�Fluency in key marketing concepts and tools including email, social media marketing, Photoshop, search advertising, as well as traditional book marketing methods
�Strategic and creative thinking
�Excellent communication and presentation skills
�Not required but a plus: Experience with video creation and Finalcut pro
�Personal interest in cooking, design and crafts a plus
