The Penguin Random House Consumer Marketing Development and Operations group seeks a Marketing Analytics Associate to join their team. The associate reports to the Director of Marketing Analytics. This associate will analyze and report on a wide range of marketing activities and recommend action items based on his or her analysis. This position will have a strong focus on website, social, and email analytics.
�Oversee recurring reporting for corporate consumer sites, including Penguin.com and the Penguin blog, including analyzing the metrics and making recommendations for optimization and/or complementary marketing activities
�Oversee recurring reporting for all corporate-run social accounts and provide deeper insights and recommendations on particular properties as needed
�Oversee recurring reporting for corporate email marketing programs, including engagement metrics for all newsletters, subscriber growth, and retention
�Oversee recurring reporting for other consumer programs, including First to Read
�Analyze consumer marketing initiatives and sales activities on an ongoing and ad hoc basis. Create reports, interpret results, identify action items, and share them with stakeholders
�Support divisional/imprint marketers in their use of web analytics tools, tracking codes, retargeting, social media listening and reporting, and internal and external marketing software
�Create and deliver documentation and training for marketers on marketing analytics, marketing campaigns, and technology
�Evaluate new measurement/analytics tools to support marketing priorities
�Keep up to date on new technologies in consumer marketing and digital reading, and share information with other marketers
�Execute special projects independently and as part of a team
The associate will also perform longer-term analyses on in-house consumer programs, digital advertising, website, social, and partnership/affiliate activities to extract trends and recommend improvements.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of previous experience along with:
�Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills
�Familiarity with digital marketing activities including email marketing and social media, and common industry metrics
�Be able to adhere to a regular monitoring schedule
�Be curious and eager to interpret sales and web analytics data
�Be able to work both independently and collaboratively
�Be eager to learn new interfaces and tools
�Should have experience with web analytics
�Have strong project management skills
�Be an advanced Excel user (pivot tables, vlookup, large files, graphing, etc.) and a strong PowerPoint user
�Experience with SQL a plus
